Kursive
My family moved around as my sisters were born. I remember living on South Jefferson street (Md.) and the cops bringing my little sister Darianne home because she wandered off while my mom was high on drugs. I remember my mom and her friends would shoot-up in the attic. My dad was always working double-time to pay for everything while my mom was using. I was always helping my sisters ... baby bottles, reading a bedtime story, and I even would change their diapers.
When I was a kid I found a bag of needles hidden in my amplifier. I showed them to my dad and he lost it. He separated from my real mother shortly after and around age 5 she was out of my life. We moved to Rockville, Maryland, it was a town called Lincoln Park and I got into a lot of fights.
As I became a teen I started smoking weed heavy and then started selling it. The summer I turned 16 I was reckless and would hang out in Montgomery County, Md., with other drug dealers who pushed the heavier stuff. I would experiment on and off with drugs but never got addicted. Not so for my brother, sadly I watched him start spiraling from drugs and he kind of put that lifestyle in perspective.
When I was 15 my brother Jordon and me got me into rapping. We were always competing against each other. He had the style and the flow and I was the one who would work hard on writing lyrics every day. I was with my brother all the time. He would get soooo twisted I always felt like I had to watch over him like when I had to watch out for my little sisters. And the people we were going around with were super shady. I saw a lot of drugs, overdoses, just real gutter shit. After I got out of high school I started hustling, always working, trying to become an entrepreneur. I figured selling drugs wasn't worth the risk. A year out of school I started doing Xanax and drinking and went into a depression. I ended up getting two DUI and assaults charges and was facing 20 years in prison. Luckily my lawyer got me off with probation and from then on my life changed. I had a dream of being on stage and having a recording business, so I built my own studio. Eventually the music started getting better and I started attracting a team. My producer cm/, my advisor Rizk, they all consider themselves part of the Kursive crew.
